Abstract: Results and Discussion: newline newlineThe WPL due to weight of formwork is evaluated based on weight of elements that built the formwork. The estimated weight is compared with weight provided in IS 14687:1999. The WPL due to live load during pouring of concrete in the formwork is evaluated by combining the weight of persons, equipment, heap of concrete beyond finished surface etc. accumulated there on the construction site. The values of the WPL due to stockpiled material such as Sand, Coarse aggregate, Bricks, Column Forms, Column reinforcements etc. is also evaluated. The linear static analysis of the floor slab as well as the frame subjected to load combination of WPL and DL is carried out to see the limit state of collapse or the limit state of serviceability is not exceeded. newline newlineAs none of the National codes have provided probabilistic value of partial safety factor for loads, as a result, the study has been carried out to find out the partial safety factors of DL and components of WPL in agreement with various National codes such as IS 456:2000, ACI 318 -14, BS8110 -1: 1997, AS 3600-2009, CSA23.3 2014, JSCE No 15, NZS 3101: Part 1:2006. Additionally, the WPL due to weight of green concrete which is based on density of green concrete is validated with the unit weight given in IS 14687:1999. newline newlineConclusions: newline newlineThe study revealed that the WPL due to weight of green concrete is a significant part of total WPL. The characteristic WPL due to weight of green concrete is proposed at 6.32 kN/m2 when the data of all the buildings under observation are included. The weight of green concrete partly gets transferred through supporting floor slab and remaining gets directly transferred to the partly built building frame. The WPL due to weight of formwork is found at 0.8 kN/m2 in contrast to the weight recommended 0.5 kN/m2 in IS 14687:1999. The WPL due to live load of 1.5 kN/m2 when concrete is poured manually, while 2.0 kN/m2 when the concrete is pumped or transported through trolley running on the rails is proposed so as to prevent the
