Abstract: | In recent years, due to the advancement in wireless communication technologies and also the increment in the popularity of mobile devices, the MANETs have attracted a lot of attention. MANETs, one of the wireless Ad Hoc network in which the nodes are mobile devices, having mobility and there is no central coordination between them. In MANET, each and every mobile node can act like a router and is able to communicate with other nodes. There exists a variety of applications in MANETs. For instance, the MANET can be established in the unusual situations, where the infrastructure installing is more difficult, or even not feasible, such as disaster area or a battle field. In MANETs, the mobile nodes having limited newlineresources like power and bandwidth. If a node wants to send information to another node, it has to select an optimal path such that the obtained QoS should be optimal. The QoS of the received information mainly depends on the newlineavailable bandwidth, stability of established path and the time delay of the newlinerespective path. So, to obtain an optimal QoS, the source node needs to select a path such that it is having maximum available bandwidth, minimum delay and maximum stability. The nature of traffic also plays an important role in newlineestablishing an optimal path between source node and destination node. newlineGenerally, the traffic is categorized as real time traffic and non-real time traffic. Real time traffic (multimedia information) having more data. So, multipath routing is preferable for real time traffic to reduce the time delay. Multipath routing is a routing that routes the total available information on the all newlineavailable paths simultaneously. Multipath routing reduces the time delay as well as optimizes the available bandwidth intern increases the QoS. In Multipath routing, the source node selects multiple paths from the available paths based on their characteristics. However, the selection multi paths are a challenging task in MANETs. Congestion is also one of the main problem in MANETs. |
