Abstract: ABSTRACT newlineCloud computing is a promising technology that has found remarkable places in both technical newlineand commercial environments. The key features of cloud computing are its flexibility, newlinescalability, service on demand, pay-as-you-go model and so on. In addition to this, the cloud newlineplatform offers a range of services such as Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as newlinea Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). The cloud user can avail the services newlinefor a nominal charge. The cloud services can be accessed by the users without any special newlinerequisites and the only requirement is the internet connection. newlineOut of all the services, storage service is the most commonly utilized service, which newlineallows the cloud users to outsource the data to the cloud. Some of the noteworthy benefits newlineof data outsourcing are its easy maintenance, manageability, availability, inexpensiveness newlineand so on. Though the cloud model offers a range of services, the users still feel reluctant newlineto exploit cloud services. In spite of the presence of Service Level Agreement (SLA), the newlineusers are hesitant to share the data. As the cloud computing model is based on distributed newlinearchitecture, the security threats are greater. newlineSecurity is a single term, yet it conceives several aspects in it and the significant facets newlineof security are integrity, confidentiality, availability, privacy and so on. Several solutions for newlinethese issues are presented in the existing literature and each solution has its own ups and newlinedowns. newlineTaking this as a challenge, this thesis proposes a security framework called SuVa newline(Security and Vulnerability)for cloud computing, which intends to sift through the data to newlinebe outsourced to the cloud server. SuVa Security Framework which is deployed in the cloud newlinecomputing infrastructure as a gateway and thus all the data which are migrated to cloud while newlineon-premise to cloud migration is safely transferred. The idea is conceived from the fact that newlinethe presence of vulnerability in the users data affects the other components of the cloud in newlineturn.
