Abstract

Marketing of agriculture products are as important as the production itself. As a link between producer and consumer, logistics plays an important role. Products of agricultural logistics are considered as integral part of agriculture, since an agriculturist is encouraged to make more investment and to increase production. Finding out the various trends happening in the field of logistics of agricultural produce is an interesting aspect. This thesis focuses on the efficacy of Logistics practice in Grapes industry with special reference to Theni District. The objectives of the study are: To study the profile of grapes producers and distributors in Theni district. To examine the application of logistics management in distribution of grapes in Theni district To identify the problems faced by the grapes distributors of Theni district in managing logistics. To evaluate the existing logistic management practices by grapes produces and distributors in Theni district.
