Abstract: In modern scenario, the prevalence of Obesity and Hypertension is affecting to all age groups from chil dhood stage to old age. The stud y under taken was enti tl ed as P r evalenc e of Ob esit y and H ypertension among S chool C hil dren . Th e objecti ves of the pr esen t stud y wer e (i) To compare the prevalence of Obesity among children of Government and Private school. (ii) To compare the prevalence of Hypertension among children of Government and Private school. (iii) To compare the prevalence of Obesity among children of Government and Private school in relation to Socioeconomic Status. (iv) To compare the prevalence of Hypertension among children of Government and Private school in relation to Socioeconomic Status. (v) To determine whether or not Obesity is associated with Hypertension. It was hypothesized that (i) There may not be significant difference of Obesity between Government and Private School Children. (ii) There may not be significant difference of Hypertension between Government and Private School Children. (iii) There may not be significant relationship between Obesity and Hypertension among children of Government and Private school. (iv) There may not be significant relationship between Hypertension and Socioeconomic Status among children of Government and Private school. (v) There may not be significant relationship between Obesity and Socioeconomic Status among children of Government and Private school. The study was delimited to four Government and four Private schools from Jaipur city. Keeping in view the objectives of the study, all together a sample of 1600 children (800 male and 800 female) were randomly selected for the study out of which 800 subjects were selected from four Government schools and 800 subjects were selected from four Private schools. The subjects were ranged from 6 to 10 years of age groups. Study was further delimited to three variables namely Obesity, Hypertension, and Socioeconomic Status.
