Abstract: | Conversational agent s are used for customer support , help desk, newlinetechnical support kind of services. Speech recognition, natural newlinelanguage processing and cognitive architecture all play a vital role in newlinebuilding a conversational agent . Conversational agent s which use newlinecomputational linguistics techniques faces some technical challenges newlinesuch as acquiring language processing capabilities which can be newlineaddressed using speech recognition and Natural Language Processing newlineand rational thinking which can be addressed using Cognitive science. newlineThis research focuses on building a Conversational Agent using the newlineproposed Cognitive Architecture. newlineThe proposed Cognitive Architecture ECCAA is derived from newlineMarvin Minsky s Society of Minds concept . There are other cognitive newlinearchitectures that draw its inspiration from Society of Minds such as newlineCRIBB, CAMAL, EM-ONE, SMCA etc. ECCAA derives semblance newlinemostly from EM-ONE and SMCA. newlineToday Emotional Intelligence has become a popular field of newlineresearch. Incorporating Emotions to the proposed cognitive newlinearchitecture provides a contextual decision-making capability to the newlineConversational Agent . This research also studies Indian Philosophy at newlinea cognitive level and incorporates some theories to the proposed newlinearchitecture. newlineii newlineThus, this research is an attempt to substitute a Cognitive newlineConversational Agent in place of a customer care executive in newlinehelpdesks which are mostly domain specific. newline |
