Abstract: In the past few years, the number of Internet applications has increased newlinesignificantly, which has resulted in insurmountable network traffic. Addition of so newlinemany new domains of connectivity has been putting a tremendous load on newlineexisting network infrastructure which at times lead to links not working as per newlineexpectation. To encounter this huge network traffic, researchers are looking newlineforward to discover the domains that result in a network with minimal delay. newlineHence, the major challenge for the growing computer networks is path restoration newlineafter a link goes down because when in a network, a link goes down or becomes newlinecongested it may take much time for path restoration. In this thesis, various newlinedimensions of the Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) have been reviewed to newlinedesign a novel mechanism for Network Path Restoration (NPR). newline
