Abstract: Actinomycetes have potential towards producing biologically active secondary metabolites newlinewhich have commercial importance. Screening of various actinomycetes for novel antibiotics newlineagainst antibiotic resistance human pathogen is of interest. The secondary metabolites which are newlineproduced by actinomycetes especially from streptomycetes are providing agriculturally, newlinepharmaceutically active agents. The main objective of the work was to carry out the basic newlineknowledge on actinomycetes occurrence in different coalmine sites of Telangana. The major aspect newlineof the work was divided into four parts. Firstly, collection and isolation of coalmine soil samples newlinefrom different coalmine sites, secondly screening their potentiality of antimicrobial production, newlinethirdly molecular characterization of the antimicrobial compound producing strains and finally newlineantimicrobial compound nature and its pharmaceutical importance newline
