Abstract

Cement industry is one of the eight core industries which are newlineidentified by the Indian Government. India is the second largest newlinecement producer in the world. It became an essential sector which helps in developing the economy of the country and provides employment to more than 10 lakhs of people. Hence huge investments are being made in this sector and it is also attracting foreign investors after the industry has been deregulated in 1982. There is a lot of scope for the boom in cement sector since it is necessary for infrastructure envelopment. This led to the huge anticipation of profits in Indian cement sector. In addition, in the recent times Indian government has planned to develop 100 smart cities which will augment the demand for cement and give a boost to the sector. newline
