Abstract: | zeylanica. L. white leadwort, (Chitrak) is an important medicinal plant, belong to family Plumbaginaceae. It is found in tropical and subtropical region Asia, Africa and Australia. newlineTraditionally Plumbago zeylanica. L. is used for the treatment of skin disorder like; Wounds, Eczema, Scabies etc. Root, root bark, and seeds of Plumbago zylanica are used medicinally. newlineRoot is the chief source of active chemical principal, crystalline plumbagin, and a yellow Napthoquinone. Extract of root is also effective against pathogens and micro organism. newlineMahana and Purushothoman in 1980 reported the anticancer activity. Anti malarial activity by Parimala and Sachdanandam, 1983. Antimicrobial and antifertility by Diderg et al. 1994 and Bhargava, 1994. It increases digestive capacity, also care leprosy, cough and inflammation. newlinePlumbago zeylanica Linn. is an under shrub growing 2 to 4 feet in height with woody stem branched wild plant known as chitrak, belongs to family of Plumbaginaceae. Dry roots of Plumbago zeylanica are good source of Plumbagin, which is of high medicinal value. In present scenario, medicinal plants become important for the remedies of human diseases. These plants and their parts are used for different diseases. Some plants are wild and cannot cultivated in normal ideal condition. The importance of these medicinal plants is due to no side effect or any type of reaction. This wild plant when cultivated requires a particular type of soil, soil content, pH, with environmental condition. In present study a protocol for soil, types of soil fertility for Plambago zeylanica L. to improve the production of roots and the chemical constituent Plumbagin. In this protocol emphasis also change the wild plant habitat to cultivate habit, So that it can be cultivated frequently and easily. newlineBiofertilizers are now-a-days most advance and supportive for development of plant growth and show excellent results in all kinds of plant via growth and yield attributing characters. newlineIn present investigation, it was aimed to determine the effect. |
