Abstract: | newlineSingle crystals form an indispensable part of the rapidly advancing newlineTechnology With progress in crystal growth technology materials having newlineattractive nonlinear optical properties are being discovered at rapid pace To newlineenable a material for potential use of nonlinear optical NLO applications newlinethe material should be available in bulk single crystal form newlineThe NLO process requires materials that manipulate the amplitude newlinePhase polarization and frequency of optical beams There is still a need for newlinenew lasers with exciting combination of light properties such as wide spectral newlinetuning ranges and large bandwidth for communication systems Though a newlinevariety of materials including inorganic organo metallic organic and newlinepolymeric have been studied for their NLO activity interest have been newlinecentered on semiorganic crystals which have the combined properties of newlineboth inorganic and organic crystals like high laser damage threshold wide newlinetransparency range less deliquescent and high nonlinear coefficients newlineHowever the organic materials have been receiving the maximum attention newlinedue to their ultra fast response time photo stability and large first order newlineSingle crystals of pure and doped cadmium thiourea acetate newline4 aminoazobenzene and N chlorosuccinimide were grown by low newlinetemperature solution growth technique Characterization studies were carried newlineout on all grown crystals to explore their properties and suitability for newlinetechnological applications newline newline |
