Municipal Solid Waste MSW Management has posed one of the newlinebiggest challenge in India today In most of Asian countries the dynamic newlinechanges in the life style and living habits of the people along with accelerated newlinegrowth of population lack of awareness financial support and inadequate newlinetechnology greatly influence the solid waste generation which has become an newlineaggravating problem The percapita generation of solid waste for the people newlineliving in urban areas is about 055kgpersonday where as it is about 04 to newline045 kgpersonday for the people living in rural areas This solid waste is newlinedisposed by local government authorities through open dumping composting newlineand Land filling It is evident from the collected data that the organic matter newlinecontent present in the 60 of the total solid waste generated from the most of newlinethe cities can be utilized as bio energy source and converted into bioorganic newlinemanure newline newline
