Isolated and Combined Effect of Continuous Run Alternate Pace Run and Fartlek Training on Selected Motor Fitness Physiological and Hematological Variables among Alagappa University College Athletes

Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the isolated and combined impact of continuous run, alternative pace run and fartlek training on motor fitness, physiological, hematological variables and lactic acid on the college athletes. To achieve the purpose of the study, male inter college athletes (n=50) whose age ranged from 17 to 25 years were selected from Alagappa university, Tamil Nadu. The selected subjects were divided into four experimental groups and one control group of ten (n=10) each, such as Group I, II, III, IV and V with continuous run, alternative pace run, fartlek training, combined training and control training respectively lasting for twelve weeks on three alternative days. The pre-test on the chosen criterion variables was taken prior to the administration of the different endurance trainings and the post-test was taken at the end of the twelfth week. The data obtained from the groups prior to and immediately after the training on the chosen criterion variables were analyzed statistically using the t- test to determine whether the groups differ significantly among the pre and post test means.
