Abstract: newlineType 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) has been a rapidly spreading disorder leading the status of a global epidemic. The number of people with T2DM has been on the rise and around 8 million deaths are occurring globally from this disease. Every year the numbers are on the rise and it is predicted that the population suffering from T2DM will go up to 592 million in the year 2035. The prevalence of diabetes has been on the rise by the adoption of a western lifestyle plus poor nutritional input with lesser amount of exercise. The major countries with higher amount of diabetic population are India, China etc. India has a prevalence rate of 12.1% and for China it is at 9.7%. newlineT2DM is characterized by an increase in glucose levels, abnormal insulin release. This complications leads to various disorders such as nephropathy, neuropathy etc. There has been various literatures which has suggested the role of diabetes in causing Alzheimer s disease, which has been classified as Type 3 Diabetes
