Effectiveness of Computer Based Mathematics Teaching in Relation to SocioEconomic Status Problem Solving Ability and Attitude Towards Computer Based Mathematics Teaching among Secondary School Students

Abstract

The main objective of the study is to find out the effectiveness of computer based mathematics teaching in relation to socio-economic status and attitude towards computer based mathematics teaching among high school students. A pilot study from 610 students has been done and the experimental study was conducted in R.A.N Matriculation School at Kavaraipettai, Thiruvallur District. The sample of students were divided into 2 groups which are termed as control group and experimental group. In order to conduct this experiment, modules were prepared based on IX Std. Mathematics Text Book in the unit Algebra. In the first chapter, Introduction to Education, Theoretical Background of the study, Evolution of the study, Conceptual framework of the study, Objectives of the study, Definition of key terms and assumption of the study were given. In the following chapter, exhaustive reviews collected related to problem solving ability, Socio-economic status and attitude towards computer based mathematics teaching were presented in detail. newline
