A study on alltoall broadcast in wdm optical signaling networks with regular topologies

Abstract

Alltoall broadcast communication is to disseminate a unique newlinemessage from each node to every other node This is a fundamental problem newlinein multiprocessor systems and telecommunication networks that need to newlinecollect information about other nodes in the network regularly in order to newlinemanage network resources efficiently The need also arises in applications in newlinethe fields of parallel and distributed computing including scientific newlinecomputations and database management These applications can be efficiently newlinesupported by the huge bandwidth provided by the optical fiber with newlinewavelength division multiplexing WDM technology Compared with newlinetraditional alltoall broadcast involving the routing problem optical alltoall newlinebroadcast over WDM network has an additional wavelength assignment newlineproblem In this thesis the main focus is to propose efficient wavelength newlineassignment methods and determine wavelength resource requirements to newlineestablish optical alltoall broadcast in regular network topologies under newlinesingle hop routing model and multihop routing model newline
