dc.description.abstractIn the quality of engineering education, teaching faculty members newlineplay main role and they are real time promoters among learning groups. newlineYesterdayand#8223;s engineering students are todayand#8223;s engineering teaching newlineprofessionals. The assessment and analysis of various skills of engineering newlineteaching professionals and their impact would help to develop effective newlineteaching and learning activities to ensure the quality of education . The newlinefollowing concepts are considered as key aspects for this research study - newlineinformation literacy skills towards information seeking attitude, information newlineretrieval strategies towards locating information, and its impact on newlineconfidence level of women faculty members.The study has been carried out with the objective to analyse and newlineassess attitudes, perceptions and opinions related to information sources, newlineretrieval, dissemination, information literacy skills and strategies. The study newlinebased on primary data collected from the focused group. 364 responses newlinereceived from the women faculty members working from 41 engineering newlinecolleges in Coimbatore region. The analyses on personal profile of the newlinerespondents revealed that the majority of the respondents are from the major newlineengineering departments working as assistant professors with post graduate newlinequalification. They are below 30 years of age and having work experience up newlineto 5 years.Women faculty membersand#8223; attitude, perception and opinion on newlineinformation retrieval revealed that some women faculty members were newlinerestricted to retrieve information by time and they also lacked knowledge of newline newline
