Abstract: | Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a promising tool for wireless newlinenetwork which is being arranged without the need of any stable infrastructure. newlineMobile nodes in MANET are able to move randomly and adjust their newlineconnections among other nodes for data transmission. Transmission Control newlineProtocol (TCP) is employed for transferring the data among mobile nodes to newlineensure reliability in MANET. In order to attain reliable data transmission, newlinemultiple challenges has been faced in the wireless network. Due to the newlinerandom movement of mobile nodes, TCP has failed to handle the congestion newlineand data losses during communication in the network. After the data packet newlinelost, the retransmission is performed to resend the damaged or dropped newlinepackets over the network. By optimizing Retransmission timer Time newlineOut (RTO) value, number of retransmissions can be reduced to newlineenhance MANET performance. The proposed research work focuses on newlineimproving TCP performance by enhancing the congestion control and RTO newlineoptimization during data packet delivery.Congestion Level based TCP (CLTCP) algorithm was developed for better link consumption with lesser throughput unfairness by TCP Reno newlinealgorithm. However, the efficiency of congestion control was not supported newlinefor data accessibility. Fixed share experts algorithm was developed to obtain newlineimproved accuracy for Round Trip Time (RTT) evaluation while using TCP. newlineHowever, it was not efficient to drive the RTO with the predicted RTT. Then, newlineTCP Timeout Adaptivity based on Fast retransmit (TTAF) was presented to newlineperform efficient RTO computation during data delivery in MANET though, newlinethe congestion was not minimized at required level. For improving congestion newlinecontrol, Incast Congestion control for TCP (ICTCP) scheme was presented to newline newline |
