dc.description.abstract | quotBackground: Performance appraisal takes into account the past performance of the employees and evaluating the job related to knowledge and skill, which in turn focuses on the improvement through the systematic training for the development of organization. Hospital industry is a service industry, where patients are the most important person. All the employees of the hospital have to perform their duties in a better way in order to get patients and#8215;satisfaction. Doctors are considered as key person in hospitals. Performance Appraisal of Doctors directly affects the working of the hospitals. newlineAim: Ample opportunities are available for researcher to carry out research on Evaluation of performance appraisal system in hospitals for doctors but the main reasons were to know the way in which performance appraisal can be applied in hospitals for doctors, to identify the key parameters responsible for performance appraisal in hospitals for doctors to identify the importance given each parameter at the time of performance measurements in hospital for doctors, to know the appropriate methods of performance appraisal for different categories of doctors and to study the conceptual frame work of performance appraisal in general in hospitals. newlineMaterials and Methods: Multisource feedback method of appraisal was used to collect data. Data were collected with the help of personal Interview and self-administered questionnaire from the Doctors, patients, supportive staff newlineKhushbu Dave Page xvii newlineand people from management of hospitals residing in state of Saurashtra Region. Collected data were further analyzed with the help of Chi- square goodness of fit for testing twenty eight hypotheses. newlineResults and Discussion: Doctors, patients, supportive staff and management all have responses that doctors performance appraisal should be done on yearly basis. Multisource feedback (Doctors, patients, supportive staff and management) have got different point of view regarding the methods to be used by hospitals for doctors performance appraisal. | |
