dc.description.abstractA Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an infrastructure-less wireless network of mobile devices where each device acts as a router and are used for wireless communication and networking capacity. The nodes are newlineformed by the wireless hosts, without using pre-installed infrastructure and do newlinenot use centralized administration. MANET has a dynamic topology architecture which highly promotes mobility and it is a less self-configuring newlinenetwork that plays a vital role in various applications. The application newlineincludes emergency rescue, military services, law enforcement and so on. newlineThe dynamic nature of MANETs makes network open to attacks and unreliability. Routing is always the most significant part for any newlinenetworks. Each node should not only work for itself, but should also be newlinecooperative with other nodes. MANETs are vulnerable to various security newlineattacks like worm hole attack, black hole attack, replay attack, flooding attack newlineetc. Hence, finding a secure and trustworthy end-to-end path in MANETs is a newlinegenuine challenge. The research work is carried out to provide security and privacy for MANET. This research work provides a secure and energy efficient routing newlineprotocol along with the detection of Distributed Denial of Service attack newlinetechniques. And also a cross layer based quality aware energy routing newlineprotocol using Quality of Service (QoS) metrics is implemented for MANETs. newline newline
