Zeolites have features of thermal stability acidity and shape newlineselectivity and hence are well exploited in performing various chemical newlinetransformations Owing to their eco friendly properties zeolites have replaced newlinemany conventional hazardous chemical processes involving mineral acids newlineBifunctional catalysts of zeolites play an important role in petroleum refining newlineand are applied in processes such as hydrocracking hydroisomerization and newlinecatalytic dewaxing Among the above reactions hydroisomerization acquires newlineimportance H zeolite zeolite Y and mordenite were loaded with newline0 1wt Pd and varying amounts 0 1 0 5wt of Ni by incipient wetness newlineimpregnation IWI The said zeolites were loaded by incipient wetness newlineimpregnation method with Ni and Pd separately also for comparison newlinepurposes The metal loaded catalysts were reduced under hydrogen newlineatmosphere and characterized by XPS XRD TEM TPD of ammonia TPR newlineusing hydrogen and BET surface area analysis newline newlineen_US
