Abstract: newlineThe sheet metal forming industry has become one of the major newlinemanufacturing sectors for the automobile aircraft and electrical industries newlineAdvanced steels have been attributable to their strength to weight ratio and newlineproven to be a proper choice of material for various body and structural newlineautomotive parts meeting the increased performance One such material is newlineInterstitial Free IF steel sheet and the experience with bending of IF steel newlinesheet is limited Bending has significant importance in the sheet metal product newlineindustry A series of investigations on air bending of sheet material has been newlinecarried out by many investigators due to its technical potential in sheet newlinebending process There are numerous types of analyses associated with air newlinebending process in particular springback bend force and bend angle that newlineneed to be quantified Variation in the mechanical and dimensional properties newlineof the material lubrication and other forming process parameters are the main newlinecauses for springback variation Accurate prediction of springback is the key newlineto die design and to control the process The springback is very difficult to newlinepredict and it currently relies on the designers experience and trial error newlineprocedure Modeling of bend force for selection of appropriate bending press newlineis a common issue in sheet bending technology Moreover it is extremely newlinedifficult to develop an analytical model for springback and bend force newlineprediction Because this reason there is a strong need to develop empirical newlinemodels associated with springback and bend force newline newline
