dc.description.abstractIn this research work a multiagent system for effective newlinetransmission of images across the network has been proposed and newlineimplemented This system includes two major subsystems in which the first newlinesubsystem deals with Hierarchical Embedded Differential Image HEDI for newlineprogressive transmission using lossless compression The second subsystem newlinecovers the design and evaluation of network wide time synchronization using newlinereference broadcast in which sender broadcasts packets to mutable receivers newlinein the network This thesis work also provides features for taking security newlinemeasures in the multiagent system so that it protects the system against the newlinemalicious platforms and malicious agents Hence the system is capable of newlineproviding security to the communication that takes place between agents newlineMoreover in this research work multiple requests made by different clients newlinefor the same image file are served by a set of agents Finally this system newlineprovides four different HEDI options to the clients The architecture of this system consist of four major components for handling message transport agent directory service directory service directory and communication that takes place between agents The intelligent query language KQML Knowledge Query Manipulation Language has been utilized for developing an Agent Communication Language ACL for effective communication newline newlineen_US
