Abstract: In the present thesis, entitled Synthesis, Characterization and Study of The Applications of Novel Polymeric Materials , I explored development and applicative prospects of some novel polymeric materials. newlineIn chapter 1, the synthetic methodologies (polymerization processes e.g. step growth, coordination chain growth, RAFT and click chemistry) and applications of various kinds of polymeric materials in our life have been discussed. Then the back ground and corresponding hypothesis/ objectives of our research interests- (i) synthesis of polyketal-based amphiphilic block copolymer for therapeutic delivery, (ii) applications of pyrene-tagged poly(N-vinypyrolidone) as multipurpose fluorescent probe and as drug delivery vehicle, and (iii) synthesis of polyacetylene type PIL with pendant imidazolium group and study of its fluorescence based properties and biointeractions with protein- have been discussed. newline newline
