Globalization ethnicity and identity in the later fiction of Salman Rushdie

Abstract

Rushdie s fiction demonstrates changes in social, cultural, political religious, economic scopes of modern world. Such variations are reproduced in Rushdie account of the later fictions which has been discussed for this study of problems with globalization. Under the extensive area of globalization, ethnicity and identity this research has dealt with the issues of sharing cultures in terms of integration and assimilation, nations matter and issues of belonging, and the problems of immigration and globalization. The concept of borderless world in the scenario of globalization represents a hegemonic sense of cultural politics that covertly creates such binary oppositions such as us/them, fair/black, superior/ inferior, rich/poor and so on. The term cultural politics comprises an enormous course of subject, but the ideas in this thesis is with the issues of globalization, ethnicity and identity.
