Sensors Deployment and Secured Routing Scheme for Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks

Abstract

The surface of Earth covered by oceans has a wide variety of underwater applications, but newlineour cognition towards these applications is far from enough. Over the past few years, there newlinehas been a rapidly growing body of research on underwater acoustic sensor networks due newlineto their wide applications in many underwater scenarios. The wireless sensor networks deployed newlineunderwater (i.e Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs)) act as a powerful newlinetechnology aiding in exploration and monitoring vast unexplored underwater applications. newlineThe UWSNs use acoustic wave for underwater communication as the radio waves easily get newlineabsorbed and attenuated in underwater. Hence, the UWSNs employing acoustic mode of newlinecommunication is termed as UnderWater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UWASNs). UWASNs newlineare an enabling paradigm for many scientific, commercial, and military scenarios. These newlineUWASNs can be employed in wide spectrum of underwater applications such as environmental newlinemonitoring, scientific exploration, disaster prevention, assisted navigation, coastline newlinesurveillance and protection for military purpose, weather prediction, oceanographic data newlinecollection, mine detection and so on. newline
