Nanotechnology includes the fundamental understanding of newlinephysical properties and phenomena of nanomaterials and nanostructures The newlinetypical dimension spans from sub nanometer to several hundred nanometers newlineThe finite size of the particles confines the spatial distribution of the newlineelectrons leading to the quantized energy levels due to size effect This newlinequantum confinement has applications in semiconductors optoelectronics and newlinenonlinear optics In recent years many studies have been focused on newlinereducing the size of semiconductors to the nanoscale regime led to a newlinefascinating class of novel materials that possess the characteristic behavior newlinebetween the bulk and nano scale descriptions This review involves the newlinepreparation optical and high pressure electrical resistivity studies of newlinesemiconducting nanoparticles as a function of dopants dopant composition newlineand pressure newlineChapter 1 reviews a general introduction of nanomaterials newlineNanomaterials and their unique physical and chemical properties are briefly newlinediscussed The common synthesised methods of nanomaterials and their newlineapplication in the field of science and engineering are showcased And also it newlineexplains the compression of nanoparticles under highpressure newlineChapter 2 summarizes the implementation of the most common newlinecharacterization techniques such as Xray powder diffraction XRD newlinescanning electron microscopy SEM Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy newlineFTIR Laser Raman and the optical absorption studies by UVvis newlineabsorption spectroscopy In addition the high pressure induced electrical newlineresistivity measurement using opposed anvil high pressure device OAHPD newlineis discussed in detail newlineChapter 3 deals with the synthesis optical and high pressure studies newlinepure and Sndoped CO nanoparticles by using simple chemical precipitation newlinemethod The Xray powder diffraction spectra show that all samples have a newlineFCC structure of CO nanoparticles The FTIR spectra concurs the XRD newlineresults Laser Raman spectra confirms the cubic nature of the sample From newlineSEM images it is clearly seen that the particles were hien_US
