Abstract

Growing concern on emissions as well as in the cost of petroleum newlinefuels have put tremendous pressure on the automotive sectorn The emission newlinetrend is rapidly switching from low emission vehicles LEV to zero emission newlinevehicles ZEV Emissions arising from Internal Combustion engines in newlineparticular diesel engines have been a great concern from an environmental newlinestandpoint especially oxides of nitrogen smoke and particulates newlineIt is seen from the literature that lot of work has been done using newlinebiodiesel as alternate fuel to diesel in diesel engines to study its performance newlineand emission characteristics To the best of authors knowledge not much of newlinework has been done so far using emulsified biodiesel as alternate fuel hence newlinein the present investigation an attempt has been made to use emulsified newlinebiodiesel as alternate fuel in a single cylinder four stroke watercooled newlinenaturally aspirated DI diesel engine having rated output of 374 kW at 1500 newlinerpm newline newline
