dc.description.abstractIt is a well-acknowledged fact that, the automotive industry is a fastgrowing newlineindustry. Because of globalization, there is a direct competition in the newlinemarket. Hence, continuous research and development is required to overcome newlinethis challenged situation. The innovation, resulting from the research and newlinedevelopment, is the life-line for achieving and retaining the competitiveness in newlinethe industry. This competitiveness, in turn, depends on the ability and the newlinemomentum of the industry to innovate and get better. The most significant newlineindices of competitiveness are the creativity of labor as well as of the resources. newlineHuman resource is the only active resource that must be handled very carefully newlinefor sustainable growth. newlineThe concept of attaining competitiveness, on the basis of inexpensive newlinelabor, positive exchange rates, and concessional duty structure, is becoming newlineoutdated. Also, it is not sustainable. In light of the above, it is felt that, a greater newlineimportance is required in the training practices, which can make sure newlinecompetitiveness on a long-term basis. The automotive sector with its associated newlinelinkages (such as metallic components, plastic components, paint, glass, newlineelectronics, capital equipment, warehousing and logistics, dealership, retailing, newlinecredit and financing, logistics, advertising, repair and maintenance, petroleum newlineproducts, gas stations, insurance, service parts, etc.) have been known and wellknown newlineat different fronts as a sector with a very high share of auto sector in GDP, newlineexports and services. The automotive segment is also seen as a multiplier of newlineindustrial growth by: newlineand#61623; Increasing profitability by providing mobility to other industries. newlineIV newlineand#61623; Providing different services to other industrial segment. newlineand#61623; Increasing agricultural productivity through farm automation and catering the newlineneeds of agricultural produce transportation. newlineUniversal development, in availability of trained manpower and good newlineinfrastructure, is necessary for the sustainable enlargement of the industry.
