Abstract: The present study was designed to assess the Leisure Time Physical Activity and Its Relationship to Academic Achievement, Socio-Economic status and Cardio-Vascular Fitness among College Students. In order to achieve the objectives and testing of the hypotheses, a sample of 2000 subjects of physical education(1000) and non-physical education(1000), studying in government and private colleges of Chandigarh, in affiliation with Panjab University, Chandigarh were selected. The age of the subject were ranged between 17 years to 25 years. The results revealed that Leisure time physical activity could not be correlated with academic achievement of all physical education and non- physical education students as results showed negative and non- significant correlation. Further, results revealed that Leisure time physical activity could not be correlated with socio economic status, as all physical education and non- physical education students as results showed, positive and non-significant correlation. However, male physical education and non- physical education students showed positive and significant correlation. It was also found that relationship between leisure time physical activity and cardio-vascular fitness of all physical education and non- physical education students as results showed, positive and significant correlation. The study may help coaches, physical education teachers, fitness trainers etc. by way of informing people about the role Leisure time physical activity and its relationship to academic achievement, socio-economic and cardio-vascular fitness level of adulthood. The present study would also play a vital role in the improvement of physical fitness of young students.
