dc.description.abstract | Receptor like kinases (RLK) is one of the largest defense related protein family which are involved in multiple physiological processes ranging from stress response to growth and development, signal transduction etc. We have identified a total of 263 TaLRK, 531 TaLRRK and 170 TaCRK genes encoding for lectin receptor like kinases, leucine rich repeat receptor like kinases and cysteine rich receptor like kinases, respectively. A majority of genes showed differential expression profiles under different abiotic and biotic stress conditions. The functional characterization of TaCRK68-A in E. coli and yeast revealed its stress responsive behavior as it rescued the host cells from various abiotic stress treatments. Overall, this study addresses the role of RLK mediated stress response in wheat. newline | |
