Abstract: The toxic nature of dyestuffs has long been recognized Accordingly dyeing wastewaters represent a source of water contamination and should be treated in some way so as to reduce the concentration of the polluting dye stuffs to permissible limits prior to discharge In addition some dye stuffs can be recovered for reuse a point which represents saving in the overall cost of the dyeing process Therefore treatment recovery technologies are essential and are likely to expand and develop considerably in the future Liquid liquid extraction and liquid membranes are promising techniques for the removal and recovery of organic impurities from wastewater Hence many researchers are attempting to investigate liquid membrane technology for recovery of organic and inorganic pollutants from wastewater
