Title: Effect of Sensamove Training on Balance and Quality of Life in older Community Dwelling Adults of Hyderabad

Abstract: Current study is focussed on the importance of balance gaining and quality of life attainment through the intervention of SENSAMOVE training exercise program. Pivotal need for this study is due to limited healthy life and minimal access to Quality of Life (QoL) for community dwelling adult old aged people belonging to 60-65 years age group. Decreased balancing is common among the adult people leading to fear of fall, fall based fractures, lack of mobility, less involvement in social environment and lack of independency. Overcoming all these associated issues on balancing is challenging and balancing can be enhanced through incorporation of proper exercising regimes. SENSAMOVE training is introduced as an effective method to solve the problem of decreased balancing and QoL detainment. Functional importance of SENSAMOVE training is greatly revealed through this Balance and QoL Enhancement Intervention Program (BQEIP). Two sets of adult aged people of 60-65 years age group are chosen for the experimental study. Randomized sampling of first set with n=140 and second set with n=140, are considered as experimental group and control group respectively. Control group is provided with Otago Exercise Program (OEP) and Balancing exercise (BE) and Experimental group performed SENSAMOVE type of exercise along with OEP and BE. Outcome measures such as Berge Balance Scale (BBS), RAND SF-36 Falls Efficacy Scale International (FES-I) is utilized for analysing the outcomes. Otago and Balancing exercise program (OBEP) increases the balance strength but SENSAMOVE and Otago Balancing exercise program (SOBEP) is effective both in enhancing the quality of life and regaining balance. Test subjects improvement confirms the positivity in posture control and regained muscle strength when compared to the control set. Hence, SENSAMOVE training can be optimistically induced within the aged people and can be practiced every day in house along with Otago and balancing exercises. newline
