dc.description.abstract | Nanomaterials, possessing unique physicochemical properties have received newlineremarkableresponsiveness for variety of applications in last decade. Carbon Nanostructures newline(CNSs) in this family lead the commendable technological advancement owing to its different newlinedimensionalities and peculiar properties such as large surface area, excellent electrical newlineconductivity, efficient charge transfer property, tunable band gap, ease of functionalization newlineand biocompatibility. Along with carbon nanotube (CNTs), graphene and its derivatives in newlinecarbon nano family {like Graphene Oxide (GO), Reduced Graphene Oxide (RGO), Graphene newlineQuantum Dots (GQDs), graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) and Graphene Hydrogels (GHs)} are in newlinefore front of current research.Recent investigations have foreseen the immense promises of newlinefunctionalized CNSs in biological research in addition to other fields of frontier science with a newlinespecific aim of improving the existing diagnostics approaches.Investigations were stimulated for newlineimproving the properties of CNSs for rapid advancement in technology, leading to cost newlineeffectiveness and ease of fabricate composite systems. Silica particles (SiO2) found to be a wellknown newlinebiocompatible and porous nanoparticles for biosensing and drug delivery newlineapplications.Similarly, among metal nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) are in forefront newlineof research due to their well-known surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and biocompatibility. newline | |
