Abstract: | Epidemiology is the study of disease occurrence in the human population. The newlinestudy comprises the answers of how, when and from where the disease originates. newlineThus epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of the disease newlinein the human population. Knowledge of the distribution and determinants of the newlinedisease are necessary to identify the patterns of the disease and to formulate the newlinehypothesis regarding the expected causal and prevention factors of the disease. newlineExact identification of causal and prevention factors may finally help the medical newlineexperts and surgeons to work out for their future strategies. newlineApplication of statistical techniques to medical data problems depends on the newlinetype of data that are provided by the experimenters. Since medical experiments newlineinvolve human beings as the units, one cannot experiment with such units rather newlineallow the observations to come on their own. The analyst, on the other hand, newlineplans his strategy in accordance with the availability of the observations. The appropriate newlineplanning and the necessary implementation of statistical methodologies newlineare, therefore, vital for drawing the pertinent conclusions. Such studies can be newlinebroadly categorized under the realm of epidemiological study although survival newlineanalysis also, sometimes, requires a parallel development. newlineVaranasi and nearby areas in the north-eastern parts of our country are vulnerable newlineto gallbladder diseases. Among the various diseases, cholelithiasis is the newlinecommonest, which requires surgical removal of the gallbladder of the patient with newlinevery high rate of success. The patients after surgical removal of their gallbladder newlinemaintain more or less normal lives. newline |
