The investigation carried out for this thesis covers the study on newlineexperimental analyses of the impact of turning parameters such as cutting newlinespeed feed rate depth of cut and tool nose radius so as to maximize tool life newlineCurrently the tool wear can be estimated by either direct or indirect newlineMethods Direct methods are not favored by industry as these involve newlinestoppage of the production process for measurement of tool wear In the newlineindirect methods measurement of process signals like cutting forces spindle newlinespeed motor current and power vibration and acoustic emission etc which newlineare significantly affected by wear phenomenon are related to observed wear newlinevalues by wear models As withdrawal of the cutting tool is not required for newlinesuch methods these are suitable for online condition monitoring newline newlineen_US
