Diabesity has become a worldwide epidemic with health and economic burden affecting both developing and developed countries. Diabesity individuals has complex health impact such as depression, reduced fitness, and HRQOL. Exercises have proven to be effective in T2DM and obesity alone, having both in one individual is more complex and therapeutic challenge, very scare studies are there on multimodal physiotherapy exercises on glycemic control, body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, depression, and quality of life in diabesity patients of Hyderabad. newlineMATERIALS AND METHODS newlineA total of 106 participants were recruited according to inclusion as well as exclusion criteria. The patients were selected from Durgabai Deshmukh hospital and the department of physiotherapy in DDMS- Research Centre-Hyderabad. After ethical committee approval, informed consent and screening they were randomized into the Experimental group and Control group. The experimental group has undergone moderate-intensity aerobic, resistance and JPMRT 3 times in a week for 16 weeks and the Control group was asked to maintain standard routine treatment. Pre and post HbA1c, weight, BMI, WC, BFP, V02max, BDI-II, HRQOL were assessed within-group and compared between experimental and control groups. The comparison between the two groups was done by unpaired t-test for continuous normal data and Mann Whitney U test for continuous non-normal and score data. The comparison between pre and post was done by paired t-test for continuous normal data and Wilcoxon signed-rank test for continuous non-normal and score data. newlineIV newlineRESULTS newlineThe results of this study showed that baseline/pre values of age, sex, height, duration of diabetes, weight, BMI, WC, BFP, VO2max, BDI-II, RAND SF-36 was not-significant between the experimental and control group (P gt0.05).
