Abstract: Porphyrins are natural biomimetics present in the active sites of many enzymes like haemoglobin and chlorophyll. The disadvantage of this catalyst has been reported in the previous work which explains their sensitivity and degradation towards thermal and chemical change in the environment. Phthalocyanines are synthetic analogues of porphyrinmacrocycle which extends its application in the field of producing synthetic dyes to catalysis. In contrast to porphyrin macromolecule phthalocyanines are considered to be very stable towards both chemical and thermal conditions, which made them special interest to study their role in biomimetic applications. Around seventy different types of metal ions can be placed in the central cavity of phthalocyanine and since these metal atoms determines the physical properties, iron(III) phthalocyanine chloride was chosen as the catalyst in the present study. The present work mainly focuses on the kinetic and mechanistic study of the oxidation of anilines and their substituents catalysed by iron(III) phthalocyanine chloride with the following oxidants, newline
