Abstract: Thermal comfort is very essential for the occupants in a residential building without air-conditioning system especially in the hot and arid regions. People in these regions are facing many health related symptoms like Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) and Building Related Sickness (BRS). Due to this, the productivity level of the occupants gets affected in a significant manner. However, the mechanical ventilation systems and air-conditioning units lead to many health problems, and from the literature review, it is clear that the health symptom rate is comparatively higher in mechanically ventilated building. In this context, natural ventilation is the only possible way to improve the thermal comfort with reduced level of health symptom. The performance of natural ventilation has been studied by many research works under various concern but limited with considering key factors including, wall effect, window opening, wind speed and vent on the residential buildings plays major role on the performance improvement of natural ventilation system. Hence, these factors are explored under various constraints in three stages. newline newline newline newline
