Abstract: | The modern consumers needs and their expectations lead to gain more focus on construction sector to improve the infrastructure development. Infrastructure development plays a vital role for any nation s growth. The requirements in the infrastructure development also needs efficient resource management with a superior quality. Hence, the researchers at the present scenario have turned to explore the optimized utilization of resources and materials with optimized performance of the structural components. This research has involved in the study of the strength performance of the composite beams which is a vital structural component in a composite structure. These beams were cast by using concrete and cold formed steel sheets with shear connectors. T shaped shear connector were used to enhance the shear strength and to improve the performance in seismic behavior. The grades of concrete used for casting the composite beams were M20, M25, M30 and M35 respectively. The spacing of the shear connectors adopted were 75mm, 100mm, 125mm and 150mm respectively. The performances of the beams with their respective grade of concrete and with different spacing as shear connectors were explored experimentally and by performing numerical analysis. The experimental studies were performed for their behavior in bending, torsion and combined effect of bending and torsion. Based on the experimental studies, the newlineoutcomes were further validated by performing numerical analysis using the Finite Element Analysis software called ABAQUS. newline newline |
