Abstract: The present study entitled Regional Integration and FDI: A study of India s newlineexperience was conducted predominantly to explain the economic effects of Regional newlineIntegration, by evaluating whether engaging in regional integration has encouraged trade and newlineinvestment flows from member countries to India. The field of study is identified as a critical newlineresearch area against the backdrop of a consistent rise of Regional Integration initiatives taken newlinein the developing world, with the aim to build, enhance, cooperate, and foster growth through newlinemore investment. Following this upward trend of Regionalism, India has also been actively newlineparticipating in various regional blocs. Another dominant factor influencing India s increasing newlinemembership in trade agreements, is to recognize sources of higher investment that may support newlineits infrastructure and economic development. Thus, the objectives of the study are designed in newlineaccordance with India s initiatives towards new-age, comprehensive trade agreements. These newlinecomprehensive agreements fall in two categories: Comprehensive Economic Partnership newlineAgreement (CEPA), and Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA). Four newlineAgreements namely, India-Japan CEPA, India-Korea CEPA, India-Malaysia CECA, and newlineIndia-Singapore CECA were included in the study. Each agreement is theoretically and newlinecritically evaluated to identify the pattern of FDI initiatives taken by each member in India. newline
