Abstract: There are several methods available for the protection of metals and newlinealloys from corrosion during storage and transportation The use of volatile newlinecorrosion inhibitors VCI is one of the most effective and convenient newlinemethods for preventing corrosion of metallic articles and equipments during newlinestorage and transportation Volatile corrosion inhibitors used in the packaging newlineindustries are very effective to protect the ferrous metal components whereas newlinethey are ineffective for copper based materials The present investigation newlinedeveloped a suitable VCI which will protect both ferrous and newlinecopper materials In this study three Mannich bases namely newlinecyclohexylamino methylurea CMU 3 cyclohexylaminopropanamide newlineCPA and 4 cyclohexylamino butan 2 one CBO were synthesized newlinepurified and characterized newline newline
