The development in recent years of embedded and network technologies has given rise to the area of Network Control System where sensors actuators and computing elements are interconnected by means of a network or other shared medium The advantages of deploying newlinenetworking in control systems are so strong that systems above some minimal level of complexity are likely to utilize networking The use of networking in control system offers benefits like self configuration reduced system wiring faster control easy diagnostics and many newlineControl systems are driven by events and must take desired action within a specified time When the network is used as a part of the feedback control loop the delay or latency can degrade loop performance and can cause instability The major source of delay is the lack of synchronization newlineamong the computing elements because each element operates with different clock periods newlineen_US
