A Mobile Ad Hoc Network MANET is a collection of mobile newlinenodes that can communicate with each other using multihop wireless links newlinewithout utilizing any fixed infrastructure and centralized controller Each newlinenode in this network acts both as host and a router When communicating newlinenodes are in motion links can be blocked by intervening objects These links newlineare susceptible to frequent failures which can cause intermittent connectivity newlineThat is there is no endtoend path existing between source and destination newlineall the time Almost all the traditional routing protocols focus on connected newlinenetworks where an endtoend path exists between any two nodes in the newlinenetwork In highly mobile or sparse networks where partitions are not newlineexceptional events these routing algorithms will fail to deliver packets newlinebecause no route is found to reach its destination newline newlineen_US
