This dissertation presents the application of recent intelligent newlinetechniques for fault diagnosis in electrical power transmission line Fault newlinesection identification classification and location are the important items newlinewhich need to be addressed in reliable and accurate manner in transmission newlineline protection Although a significant number of methods have been newlineproposed in the literature available using neural networks this dissertation newlineproposes recent techniques like Support Vector Machine SVM and Extreme newlineLearning Machine ELM for fault section identification classification and newlinelocation in power transmission line The protection scheme for transmission newlineline is employed for various power networks such as single circuit line multi newlinebus line and series compensated transmission newline newline
