To control the birth rate, fertility control is required. Although, there are many methods for fertility regulation is available but the oral contraception method is most popular method for contraception. The traditional medicines are being popular in the current time because of having fewer side effects as compared to synthetic allopathic drugs. There are many herbal drugs having abortion/fertility regulating activity but they are not as effective as synthetic allopathic drugs. Research was conducted on single herbal drug for abortifacient activity. But poly-herbal formulations used in today s trends are not properly evaluated for abortifacient activity and side effects. The Poly-herbal formulations may have the potential for abortion/antifertility activity comparable to allopathic drugs. newline newlineAim: To explore unethical use of abortion drugs through market survey, comparative clinical study (observational) to compare side effects of abortion drugs, administered by self-medication, to those administered under medical supervision; evaluate and compare the abortifacient activity, antifertility activity and estrogenic activity of polyherbal formulations Menstrojek Forte and EMP. Forte with Mifepristone as a standard allopathic abortifacient drug.
