dc.description.abstractToday the use of computers for handling image data in the medical newlinefield is growing The use of computers and a network makes it possible to newlinedistribute the image data among the world wide efficiently The CT and MRI newlinescan are the modern image generating techniques MRI and CT produce newlinesequences of images image stacks each a cross section of an object The newlineamount of data produced by these techniques is vast means it gives detailed newlineinformation about the object These images required very big storage space newlinedue to their big size This may be bottleneck of the system when we are newlinetransmitting the image over a channel which is having limited bandwidth newlineespecially in rural areas It is necessary to compress the medical image newline newline newlineen_US
