Abstract: Organizational citizenship behavior is a concept which every company aspires to have in its newlineemployees, but only a few can actually achieve. The research aims to analyze the role of Psychological newlineCapital as a mediator in the relationship between Perceived Organizational Support and Organizational newlineCitizenship Behavior. In an effort to meet this objective, a study was conducted on the employees of newlineITES organizations. The research instruments used in the survey questionnaire are as follows. POS newlinewas measured using the 8 item Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS by Eisenberger et newlineal., 1997). OCB was measured using the 24 items scale developed by Podsakoff, MacKenzie, newlineMoorman, and Fetter (1990). PsyCap was measured using the 24 items Psychological Capital newlineQuestionnaire (PCQ) scale by Luthans et al., (2007a). Five hundred and ninety five responses were newlineobtained from the employees of ITES organizations on a whole. The implications of demographic newlinefactors on POS, PsyCap and OCB were examined using t-test and ANOVA. Gender had no significant newlineinfluence on POS, PsyCap and OCB. Marital status, age, educational qualification, professional and newlineorganizational tenure of the employees had a significant influence on all the study constructs POS, newlinePsyCap and OCB. Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS confirmed a positive association newlinebetween POS and PsyCap. Influence of PsyCap on OCB was also confirmed through the analysis. newlinePOS also had a positive relationship with OCB. The role of PsyCap as a mediator in the relationship newlinebetween POS and OCB was also tested. The results confirmed that PsyCap was a partial mediator in newlinethe influence of POS on OCB. The findings of the study provide impetus to research by identifying newlinePsyCap as an intervening variable in the relationship between POS and OCB.
