Abstract: This study investigates involvement of new media verticals along with media newlinefirms which influence political parties on emerging markets through their newlinenetwork partners in order to push a voter awareness strategy. On emerging newlinemarkets, political actors typically play a more central role than is the case on newlinemature western markets. We discuss how the new media collaborators have newlinehandle and manage political management factors in order to influence four newlinedifferent dimensions of the vote bank strategy through new media campaign in newline2014 parliamentary elections in India.A study carried out by Centre for Media Studies on poll spending says newlinequotunaccounted forquot money pumped in by quotCrorepatiquot candidates, corporate and newlinecontractors has pushed up the expenditure to elect 543 MPs. Out of the estimated newlineRs. 30,000 crore, the exchequer have been spend Rs. 7000 to Rs. 8000 crore to newlineconduct the electoral exercise for the 16th Lok Sabha.By constitutional requirement, elections to the Lok Sabha must be held at most newlineevery five years or whenever parliament is dissolved by the newlineHon ble President of India. The previous election, to the 15th Lok Sabha, was newlineconducted in April May 2009, and its term has naturally expired on 31 May newline2014.
