Solar photovoltaic system plays an important role in meeting the increasing energy demand of the world s electricity and also helps in alleviating the ecological degradation due to the usage of conventional fuels. Towards this researchers are required to solve novel challenges relating to usage of alternate sources of energy. This thesis proposes various scientific solutions by developing control techniques for power conditioning circuits in solar photovoltaic system. The overall objective is to develop control Techniques and the related power electronics DC-DC converter and DC-AC inverter topologies so as to effectively extract the maximum solar energy with minimum losses and better system reliability. The thesis covers the analyses and modeling of photovoltaic system, power conditioning circuits, implementation of control techniques, application of maximum power point tracking technique and application to solar water pumping system. newlineThis thesis begins with the design and development of a simulation model for PV array with inclusion of temperature and irradiance level conditions for precise calculation of the PV system performance. newline newline
